Bing Crosby's Daughter:
"I Think of Dad Every Day."

GLOBE, Feb. 9, 1999, by Patricia Nolan

Mary Crosby became world famous for shooting J.R. on Dallas in 1980, but she says the man who had the greatest impact on her life is her father, the late crooner Bing Crosby.

Even though Bing died in 1977 at the age of 76, Mary confides: "I still think about my dad every single day."

Divorced and living in Malibu, the 40-year-old beauty says her fondest memories are of the trips she took with her dad as a young girl. "He used to take me fishing and hunting when I was a kid," she recalls.

"We even went to Africa."

Bing's son Gary, from his first marriage, blasted Bing as a cruel dad.

But while divorcee Mary admits Der Bingle wasn't big on kisses and hugs, she says he showed his love for her in many ways.

"We used to go for long walks together and he would hold my hand," she says.

"To me it was heavenly. Those memories will be with me forever. He was the best dad a girl could ever want."
