I have been doing a report for my health class about children with cleft lip and palates. One website had a listing of celebrities who were born with facial clefts and they included Mary Crosby. Was Bing's daughter born with a cleft lip or was there another Mary Crosby? I have read many books about Bing, and there was never any mention of it. I have seen pictures of Bing's daughter, and if she was born with the birth defect, the doctors did a wonderful job of repairing it, you can't even tell. I have a little cousin that was born with a cleft palate, among other problems, I hope doctors can do as good a job on her.

Heather, By the photos I think there is a slight cleft lip (we use to say hair lip), but only fractional, but I've never heard any comments about it.

FYI: Cleft palate and cleft lip are two different abnormalities and do not have to occurr together. With a cleft palate, sucking and eating are problems and correcting the condition does not usually begin until after 6 months and closer to 18+ months of age. Simple soft tissue cleft palate is usually corrected in one surgery and more invloved including lip takes multiple surgeries.

Ron, You may have said "hare lip," but you spelled it "hair lip." I have a hair lip. It doesn't require surgery to correct, only a good razor!

Steven, I use to have one of those too, but with a beard as well. Good in the winter when I lived in England and played rugby. Nice and warm on a chilly day.
